Zune Originals is a collection of 27 original works by 18 international artists designed to be engraved onto the back of the device. On the Zune Originals site, launching tomorrow (13 November 2007), visitors will be able to customize their Zune by size, color, illustration and with up to four optional lines of text—all free of charge, at least for the time being.

The Memory Infinite USB flash drive features a USB male connector on one end while the other features a female connector, and was specially designed in this way to enable you to daisy chain a few of these together in order to increase the total storage. Imagine connecting a few of these together to build what is a wearable piece of tech jewelry. Theoretically speaking, you could end up with an unlimited amount of memory should your budget permit you to daisy chain many of these. Sony VaioDesigner Eno Setiawan surely loves the Sony range of Vaio notebooks, which is why this Vaio Zoom notebook concept was concocted. The Zoom supposedly utilizes holographic technology that has been condensed into a thin glass form factor. Sony’s gargantuan booth at CES 2007 covers a lot of real estate, and it’s always packed full of onlookers soaking up the sights and sounds. But the flashy booth hides a dirty little secret: Aside from a handful of headline products, very few of the devices on display are actually new. Instead, the company waits until late February to announce a detailed product plan for the forthcoming year (at which time CNET will have in-depth coverage).

In the meantime, there are a few gems on display in the form of prototypes. Designed to showcase a technology or a proof of concept, these products often lack model numbers and specific details. They’re hand-built (or simply plastic mock-ups), and they may or may not make it to your corner big box store in the next 18 to 24 months. Read More »
