dell-latitude-xt-rumor.jpgLike the iPhone’s touchscreen? Well, imagine a computer with similar capabilities. Dell has finally revealed more details regarding its first tablet PC, called the Latitude XT, with capacitive touchscreen technology. This makes it easy to resize, reposition, or move digital bits around on the tablet’s screen using either your fingers or a computing pen.

The notebook is lighter than most tablet PCs, weighing less than four pounds, and it has a bright 12.1-inch LCD screen that’s viewable even if you’re out in the sun. Other features include a Core 2 Solo processor, a 40GB hard drive, 1GB of memory, Wi-Fi, and Windows Vista, although keep in mind all those features can be upgraded.

The guys over at Tablet PC Review got to spend some one-on-one time with the machine, and based on their initial impressions, wrote a pretty good review. I give it a week before we start seeing more in-depth reviews of the XT, so I’ll keep you posted. Dell will start taking orders by the end of the year from those willing to pay $2,499 for a next-gen tablet PC.
